How do you sell on Temu? A bTOP expert explains
In a very short space of time, Temu has become one of the most recognisable marketplaces in the world. The platform is also expanding rapidly in Europe and is increasingly opening up to local sellers.
For Polish companies, this means the opportunity to reach a new group of customers without having to build their own sales channel from scratch. At the same time, selling on Temu is different from selling on Allegro, Amazon or Kaufland Marketplace.
Krzysztof Kryś, Marketplace Specialist at bTOP, explains how to start selling on Temu and what to bear in mind before listing your first products.

Temu Local Seller – an opportunity for Polish businesses
Temu is increasingly developing its local sales model. As a result, the products offered on the platform do not have to be shipped directly from Asia. Sellers can hold stock in Poland or another European country and fulfil orders locally.
For companies with their own warehouse, this means they can use Temu as an additional distribution channel, whilst at the same time reducing delivery times and simplifying order processing.
Comment from a bTOP expert: „Temu should be seen as just another marketplace, rather than simply a platform for cheap products from China. The growth in local sales means there is also increasing scope for European sellers there. – Krzysztof Kryś”
How do I register a seller account on Temu?
You can register a seller account via the official Temu Seller Centre. The process begins by selecting the country in which the business operates and creating an account. Temu then asks for basic company details and information about the person representing the business.
You can start the registration process here: Temu Seller Centre
As part of the verification process, the company’s registration details, business address and a document confirming the identity of the person authorised to represent the company may be required.
Once the data has been submitted, the account goes through a verification process. Once this is complete, you can set up your shop, fill in your name and contact details, and start preparing your first listings. Temu does not currently charge a fee for registering a local seller account, but it is always worth checking the terms and conditions directly in the Seller Centre, as these are subject to change.
Comment from a bTOP expert: „It’s worth preparing all the company details and the documents for the person representing the business before you register. This speeds up the whole process and allows you to move on to setting up your shop and adding products more quickly. – Krzysztof Kryś”
Once your listing has been approved, it is not advisable to transfer your entire catalogue from another marketplace straight away. This platform has its own structure of categories, parameters and variants, so product data should be prepared in line with the platform’s requirements.
Comment from a bTOP expert: „The most common mistake is the belief that it’s enough to simply upload the same product catalogue that works on Allegro or Amazon. Every marketplace has its own requirements, and Temu is no exception.” – Krzysztof Kryś”

Price is very important
From the very beginning, Temu has built its position on very attractive prices. That is why price competitiveness is particularly important on this platform.
However, this does not mean that a seller should be the cheapest at any cost. Before listing products, it is important to take into account the full costs of sales, including logistics, order fulfilment, returns, taxes and promotional activities.
Comment from a bTOP expert: „Entering a marketplace without carefully calculating your margin can quickly lead to a situation where sales are rising, but the company isn’t making a profit. On Temu, price is important, but profitability should still be the basis for decision-making. – Krzysztof Kryś”
How much does it cost to sell on Temu?
Temu actively encourages local sellers to join the platform. The Seller Centre materials include, amongst other things, information about the absence of a registration fee and zero-commission offers for selected sales programmes.
However, the terms and conditions may vary depending on the country, category and type of partnership. It is therefore advisable to check the current fees and rules directly in the Seller Centre each time before starting to sell.
Logistics and stock levels
When selling on several marketplaces at the same time, it becomes particularly important to synchronise stock levels. If the same product is available on Temu, Allegro, Amazon and in your own shop, updating stock levels manually can quickly lead to errors.
Therefore, when dealing with a larger volume of orders, it is worth ensuring integration with a warehouse management system or a marketplace management tool. This helps to minimise the risk of selling a product that is no longer physically in stock.
Comment from a bTOP expert: „The more sales channels there are, the more important automation becomes. A well-configured integration reduces the risk of selling products that are no longer actually in stock. – Krzysztof Kryś”
How do you put together a good offer?
In this regard, the way a product is presented is of paramount importance. Customers very quickly compare a number of similar offers, so the main image, price and key information must be clear at a glance.
It’s worth ensuring you have good photos, the correct variants, accurate specifications and a clear product description. The listing should be prepared in such a way that the customer knows straight away what they are buying, what the product’s key features are, and how it differs from similar items available on the platform.
Comment from a bTOP expert: „On Temu, clarity and specificity are what matter most. The quicker a customer understands the key benefits of a product, the greater the chance they’ll choose that particular offer. – Krzysztof Kryś”

Is it worth selling on Temu?
