Von Halsky dog and InPost Buy - New competition for Allegro?
Nationally known company InPost, a forerunner in the development of parcel machines, is taking a hard step into e-commerce. A new service has been added to the InPost app, from which you could take care of your parcels so far. InPost Buy. This function not only allows in-app purchases, but at the same time has a role AI purchasing advisor. At this point, several AI shopping assistants have already rolled over, be it Amazon's Rufus or Allegro's module in GPT Chat. But how does InPost Buy with its AI compare to all this?
Revolution - over 16 million potential customers
The first InPost parcel machine was placed in 2009 in Krakow, but the shipments passing through it were not at all related to e-commerce as they are today. It was only in 2016 InPost has focused on its online shopping business. Currently, their mobile application has over 16 million active users. This is a really large audience to have at your fingertips. Users of the app are entitled to free delivery and unlimited returns, but only for orders from £49 for parcel machines and from £99 for courier deliveries (up to 30kg). Free returns, however, are only made via parcel machine.
No commission on the platform
Commission on e-commerce platforms should come as no surprise to anyone. In fact, almost every online shopping giant charges sellers a certain percentage, be it per category or in general form (Temu, for example, is an exception). Based on our observations, currently the highest commission is paid on Allegro, so InPost Buy's zero commission is very refreshing.
All retailers who join the InPost platform by the end of May this year, they can take advantage of the welcome programme. It offers zero commission and preferential rates for parcel post and InPost courier services. For our part, we can say this is a brilliant deal - and it would be a huge loss not to take advantage of the promotion. InPost will sooner or later will become a giant, so it is not worth lagging behind.
How exactly does InPost's AI work?
The shopping assistant has an avatar of an animated golden dog named Von Halsky. AI searches for offers from your shop, compares them and recommends the best options. We assume that the assistant recommendation system will be similar to those operating on other e-commerce platforms. The definitive advantage of InPost, however, is the fact that the application also has a delivery function. From one place, customers can receive a product recommendation, purchase a product, pay, track a parcel, redirect a parcel or open a Parcel Machine remotely.
When creating a product feed, it is therefore worth bearing in mind that it will be scanned not only by humans but also by AI. You will find several posts on our website about preparing products for AI expertise, such as Rufus or ChatGPT. However, we will certainly prepare in the future handbook including principles and policies InPost, indicating how to navigate the platform once it has taken off.
Integration - does InPost Buy already have it?
InPost Buy has a ready-made plug-in for integration with partners such as:
- Base. (formerly Baselinker)
- Apilo
- Shoper
- IdoSell
- Sell Asist
With sales management systems, the retailer can, in a single panel handle orders from various sources, synchronise inventories, issue offers on all platforms simultaneously, carry out shipments and automate activities that previously required manual handling. The most popular integrator in Poland is Base, that will work not only with large companies, but also with smaller retailers. Base currently has the largest number of possible integrations with platforms, among which we can find such giants as Allegro, Amazon, Temu, Empik, Kaufland or fresh InPost Buy. If we had to recommend a sales management system, we would certainly unanimously point to Base.
If you are not already using Base, we offer comprehensive support for the implementation of the system: from registration to configuration to the first sales steps. Thanks to our experience, you will do this faster, more efficiently and without unnecessary complications. The implementation service is one-off and we will take care of all the formalities for you!

Competition - InPost vs Allegro
There are many posts on the internet both predicting and admitting that InPost Buy could become a in direct competition with Allegro. The aforementioned platform has been on the market since 1999 and maintained its status as the most popular online sales platform in Poland until 2025. Currently, this place is held by Temu, which in March 2025 overtook Allegro in terms of the number of users (Temu - 18 million, Allegro - 17.8 million). With InPost, which at launch has already 16 million guaranteed, entering the leading top spot should be a matter of time. However, the question remains:
Who will be number 1?

When does InPost Buy officially launch?
At the moment, the new feature in the InPost app is available in beta version for selected users, and within a few weeks officially launches for all. However, in order to use this function, it is necessary to have a contracts with InPost for courier services. Nevertheless, to an excellent opportunity to reach a broad base of app users and increase sales in a new channel - with commission 0%.
