Everything you need to know about the „InPost Von Halsky” update”

If you sell on marketplace platforms, you’ll no doubt be aware that changes to the terms and conditions are not just a formality, but above all a signal to optimise your sales processes. InPost has just announced a major update to its service, which will be renamed InPost Von Halsky from 12 June 2026. At btop, we keep a close eye on changes to our clients’ sales channels, which is why we’ve put together a summary of the key changes your operations team needs to be prepared for.

Some financial breathing space and greater control over promotions

The first and by far the most important piece of news for finance departments is the extension of the commission-free period on sales value until 31 December 2027. This is excellent news, giving sellers the scope to build scale in this channel without unnecessary cost burdens. At the same time, InPost is focusing on giving sellers greater autonomy in marketing – from now on, promotions are managed directly via the Merchant Portal. This means you can set the discount levels and the duration of promotions yourself, allowing you to react much more quickly to competitors’ moves.

Logistics under strict control: Why do you need to keep a close eye on every consignment?

With the InPost Von Halsky service, logistics is an integral part of the ecosystem, which in practice means that you must use only InPost’s delivery services. This is a key requirement of the entire partnership – if your systems are not properly integrated with the InPost API for generating labels and dispatching parcels, you may encounter serious problems.

What’s more, InPost takes a very strict approach to the quality of parcel preparation. If a parcel is not correctly declared or its details do not match those you have entered into the system, you must be prepared to face financial consequences. The platform has introduced provisions allowing for the imposition of surcharges for incorrectly prepared parcels – that is, those which deviate from transport standards or require a system correction. As a seller, you must therefore ensure that goods are weighed and measured accurately and that they are declared on time, as any error in this area will directly impact your profit margin.

New operational protocol: 24 hours to respond

It is worth paying particular attention to the tightening of operational requirements. InPost has introduced strict rules regarding unfulfilled orders: if you are unable to dispatch the goods, you have a maximum of 24 hours to notify InPost and the buyer. Failure to do so means that the platform will issue a refund to the customer, passing the cost on to your business, and repeated instances of this error may lead to the suspension of your shop’s account. The rules on automatic order acceptance have also changed – the contract between the parties is now concluded when the payment is processed, and if this process is not successfully completed within 12 hours, the order automatically expires.

Greater flexibility in the product range and smart sales support

We have some very good news for many sellers regarding the product range – jewellery is back in the game! Until now, this category had been subject to a total sales ban, which limited the options available to many shops. InPost is changing its approach and replacing this ban with a value limit: from 12 June, you can include jewellery in your range, provided that the value of a single item does not exceed 2,500 zlotys.

At the same time, the platform is focusing on technological development, using artificial intelligence (AI) to „learn” about product listings. In practice, this means that your product data will be processed by InPost’s algorithms to better match your products to buyers’ needs. InPost is extending its licence to use this information, with the aim of creating a smart shopping assistant. As a result, your products are more likely to appear in front of customers who are actually looking for what you have in stock. It’s a kind of compromise: you share your data so that the AI can sell your goods more effectively.

Remember to handle returns

Finally, it is worth mentioning the automation of refunds. To ensure a high standard of customer service, InPost has introduced a mechanism for automatic refunds 5 days after an unsuccessful return attempt initiated by the Seller. At btop, we believe that all these changes, despite their strict nature, are bringing order to the market and creating new opportunities for growth. If you need support in adapting your shop to the new standards, our team is at your disposal.
